* IBM earlier this month announced a definitive agreement to acquire
Alphablox, a privately held business-intelligence software vendor.
Alphablox for Unix and Windows is a flexible, component-based, open
platform that lets customers develop and deploy analytics within the
context of business applications. Without such software, decision
makers have to gather information scattered across different reports,
query tools, packaged analytics and traditional business intelligence
products.
