I am on my way to the IOD conference. This year it is in Las Vegas. I just can’t wait to see Céline Dion on stage.
I have been in the US for one week already. I started my tour by visiting my good friend Stuart Litel in his home-town of Boston, MA. Did you know that the “95” on I-95 was not the speed limit? Too bad I did not know that before I tried his Corvette... I did a bit of shopping. I just wonder how my Cheetah will growl on my quad core box…
I spent the week with this highly recommendable company based in North Carolina, M Systems Intl. I could tell you more about what we did, but I’d have to kill you after, and it’s fairly difficult when it comes to blog readers.
Nevertheless, I am now in my flight from Atlanta to Las Vegas – in coach of course. My fantastic VIP status on Air France does not bring me a damn thing on this Atlanta-based-near-bankruptcy-airline (they ought to remain nameless). Can you imagine that beer is not free? I am not even speaking about getting a glass of Champagne...
I can’t wait to be at the conference. Of course, I will not go see Céline. For three reasons. First of all, I am not sure I will have time, my schedule is already pretty packed, then I don’t enjoy what she sings and, finally, she left Vegas. I have to pick my second-best-choice, Ambuj Goyal. I like what he sings when it comes to Informix.
Speaking about conferences, I wanted to mention what my favorite obstinate person in the US is at.
Cindy Lichtenauer and her team is putting together, for us, a great Informix conference in Kansas City. I can’t wait to see the final list of sessions. Stay tuned.
